Stonepoint Forge
Farrier Service
Stonepoint Forge Farrier Service is a full service professional horseshoeing business located in Central Missouri. Travis is trained and experienced in hot & cold shoeing, as well as therapeutic and corrective shoeing. He can and does do everything from draft horses to ponies, and shoes a large variety of performance horses, including dressage, jumping, western pleasure, reining, barrel racing and many more. He has worked very closely with many of the area veterinarians & equine specialists on horses that require therapeutic or corrective shoeing, and is responsible for shoeing World Champions in many different disciplines as well.

Travis is a "horseman's farrier", and his experience with training horses from halter breaking to finishing  has also helped him become a better shoer. He has a well earned reputation for being gentle and quiet around the horses, and is especially good with the young ones. He chose his profession based on his love for the animals, and it shows.

Travis also finds time to do several clinics/demonstrations each year. Catch his next one on February 5th at Stephens College Equestrian Center. This clinic will run from 10am until noon. Please email for more info if you are interested in attending!

Travis is also the onsite farrier for the Show Me State Games Missouri Dressage Classic Horseshow held every July. For more information about this show click
HERE.

If you are interested in becoming a client, please feel free to call. Travis's schedule is usually booked up pretty full all year round but depending on your area he may be able to fit you in on his regular route. Prices are reasonable, service is reliable, and he has many references to provide at your convenience.

An example of therapeutic shoeing done by Travis in February '05. Black hoof has already had the hybrid plastic shoe applied, white hoof has not been shod in this photo. Second photo shows close up of the shoe. This is merely one example of the many options available to help keep your horse sound!

These photos were taken in April 2005, and show the two front feet of a paint horse that had gone at least 6 months with no hoofcare. The near hoof has been trimmed, dressed and shod, while the off hoof shows the condition the hoof was in before being shod. This is a great example of a before and after photo, and shows a huge difference between proper hoofcare and neglected feet. Your horses feet SHOULD NOT ever get this bad, this was an example of a new client Travis recently took on who had been unable to find a farrier in quite some time. This mare's feet shaped up well but many horses whose feet get to this point will take multiple trims/shoeing to get back to normal.
